A Brigham Young University graduate, Brent Hunsaker began his career over twenty years ago in Salt Lake City, working as the Central Utah Bureau Chief for another Salt Lake area television and radio station. He has also worked as an anchor for KGBT in Harlingen, Texas, KAKE in Wichita, Kansas, and KCTV in Kansas City, Missouri, as well as taught broadcast news as an adjunct professor at Rockhurst College in Kansas City.

Brent's reporting has taken him across the United States and around the world. He's covered two national political conventions, humanitarian airlifts from Utah to the former Soviet Republic of Georgia, and several winter and summer Olympic games.

Brent is the recipient of many national awards for investigative and community affairs reporting, as well as numerous regional and state awards, including: the Radio & Television News Directors Association Ben Chatfield Award in 1980, the Scripps-Howard Foundation Jack R. Howard Award in 1985, the Penney/Missouri Award for Television Leadership also in 1985, and awards from the Texas Associated Press in 1985, the Kansas Associated Press in 1988, the Association of News Broadcasters for Kansas in 1990, the Kansas City Press Club in 1994, the Utah Broadcasters Association in 1997, and the Utah Chapter of the Society of Professional Journalists in 1998 and 1999.
